HOW TO OPEN ATTACHMENTS IN AOL MAIL APP

AOL Mail Application

“Cannot Send or Open Attachments in AOL Desktop Gold” is the most common error message. If you want to send a image or a document file but your AOL Mail Application won’t let you, you’ve come to the right place. AOL has a 25MB attachment limit, which includes both the messages and the attached files. Attachments that exceed the email’s size restriction cannot be accessed, and they may only be received within the email.

Solving Steps

  • Disable any third-party antivirus software that is installed on your computer, since it may block you from downloading or opening an attachment.
  • Verify the IMAP settings, since these may be the cause of the issue.
  • If you have an AOL Mail Application running on your computer, you must disable or remove it from the Start menu.
  • The use of pop-up blockers in your browser may also be one of the causes of attachments not opening on AOL.

Pop-up Block on Google Chrome

  • Open the Google Chrome web browser.
  • Select the Settings option from the three-dotted menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser.
  • Scroll down the menu to the Advanced Settings option at the bottom of the screen.
  • On the left side of the screen, click the Privacy and Security option, and then the Site settings tab.
  • Select Pop-ups, and if the option is checked, click the checkbox to disable the Pop-up option.

Resetting Browser Settings

  • Open the Google Chrome web browser.
  • In the top-right corner of the screen, click the three-dotted Menu symbol.
  • Select the Settings option, then scroll down to the Advanced Settings option.
  • To reset the Google Chrome browser, click Reset Settings and then follow the on-screen directions.
  • If your AOL mail is still refusing to open attachments, please contact our technical support team.
