You must also have email receiving settings (incoming mail server). Receiving notifications is done by IMAP or POP3.
Gmail SMTP server settings outlook
- You must allow the incoming mail server settings (POP or IMAP) on your Gmail account before configuring your Gmail SMTP server settings in Outlook.
- Now, log in to your Outlook account. In the top-left corner of the screen, click the Tools button.
- From the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts.
- Select Add a New E-mail Account and then press Next.
- By entering your user name, email address, and password, you will automatically set up your account.
- Select POP3 or IMAP from the Server Style take menu. Next, click the button.
- Fill out the User Information section with your Gmail login information. In the User Information tab, enter the Username and Email-ID.
- Also include the Account Information section with the Gmail server ports. Select IMAP/POP3 as the account form, and imap.gmail.com or pop3.gmail.com as the incoming mail (IMAP) server.

- Gmail’s standard security is Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
- For IMAP, the default port number is 993, and for POP3, the port number is 995.
- Safe SMTP requires the use of SSL and TLS (if available).
- The SSL authentication port is 465, while the TLS authentication port is 587.
- After entering the required information, click the Test Account Settings button to check the server link settings.
- To finish configuring the SMTP server, click Next and then Finish.

- Be sure to check the box next to the Require Sign-In option. When you see the next page, tap the Next button on the Outgoing Setup screen and adjust the email account settings as required.
- To finish setting your Gmail account’s server, press the Next button twice.

- Start the Server Manager application on your computer. In the dashboard, select the Roles and Features option. Three times, press the Next button.
- When the Features window appears, check the box next to the SMTP Server option. The Add Roles and Features Wizard window appears on the desktop now.
- Then, after clicking the Add Features icon, click the Next button. Check the boxes next to the options ‘IIS 6 Scripting Tools’ and ‘IIS 6 WMI Compatibility.’
- Select Next and check the box next to the ‘Restart the destination server automatically if necessary‘ choice. When the Add Roles and Features Wizard prompt message window appears on the desktop, press the Yes button. Stay until the update is over after clicking the Install button.
- Move to the Server Manager Dashboard window after the installation is complete. Pick Internet Information Services 6.0 Manager from the Tools menu.
- Select the Connect this server to cloud services link. Select Server1 ⟶ SMTP Virtual Server ⟶ Domains.
- Check for the Mail Server option in the Services list and right-click it. To see the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol Properties pane, select the Properties option.
- Choose Easy from the Startup Type drop-down menu, then press the OK button.
- Return to the Internet Information Services Manager window, right-click the SMTP Virtual Server option on the left column, and pick Properties.
- As the SMTP Virtual Server Properties window appears, click the General tab and select the All Assigned option from the IP Address drop-down list. Check the Allow Logging box as well.
- Move to Access page, then press the Authentication button and OK. Select the Connections tab, select the radio button next to Just the collection below, and then click the Add button.
- Click the OK button twice after entering the IP address. Select Relay ⟶ Only the list below ⟶ Add.
- To open the Outbound Security window, click the Delivery tab, then the Outbound Security button.
- Select the Basic Authentication method by clicking the radio button next to it.
- Enter the password for authentication. Tab OK after selecting the checkbox next to TLS Encryption. Click the Outbound Connections button, enter 587 in the TCP Port area, and then press OK.
- Pick smtp.gmail.com in the Smart Host area after clicking the Advanced button. Click on Apply, then OK button in the SMTP Virtual Server Properties window.
- Open your window and sign in to your Gmail account. Select Settings⟶ Accounts⟶ Google Account Settings⟶ Sign-in & Security, and Switch the Allow less stable applications option off.

- In the INCOMING SETTINGS area, enable the Use SSL option.
- Enter 587 (TLS) and 465 as the server ports (SSL).
- Press the Save button.
